Because OPR is a sanctuary, we are not open to the general public. We do offer private
educational tours by appointment from April 1st through September 30th if weather permits.
We are closed in the winter because monkeys do not like to go outdoors when it's cold &
visitors would not be able to see them from the tour areas. Our tour guides will escort you
through the sanctuary grounds and introduce you to each one of our resident monkeys. You
will hear the stories of how each monkey came to OPR, and learn about each individuals
unique personality. You will have an opportunity to ask any questions you may have about
monkeys in general. And you will be amazed at the intelligence & social behavior of these
very special creatures.
Tour groups are offered for a minimum of 4 individuals and a maximum of 15, and typically
take 1-1/2 to 2 hours.
Suggested minimum donation for a private educational tour is $10.00 per person, and will
help us continue our mission of hope. In addition some people enjoy bringing gifts for the
monkeys such as Kong toys or Nylabone chew toys, large parrot puzzle feeders, polar
fleece material, etc. Before donating items not listed here please contact Polly at 360-575-
9231 to check for appropriateness of gift.
